For the purpose of drafting and implementing the Building Code, buildings shall be classified into four categories as follows:-
(a) "A" category: State-of-the-art buildings to be built based on international state of art following the building codes adopted in developed countries.
(B) "B" Class: Buildings with plinth area exceeding one thousand square feet, three floors including ground floor or structural span exceeding four point five (4.5) meters.
(c) “C” Class: Buildings with plinth area up to one thousand square feet, ground floor up to three floors or structural span up to four point five (4.5) meters.
(D) "D" Category: Small houses, huts built up to two floors using raw or old bricks, stone, mud, bamboo, thatch etc.
